Paradiso is Live for Backers!

Hi all, hope you're keeping safe at home. Whilst most of Modiphius is on lockdown and projects are paused we kept the Infinity team on high alert and they have been making great progress. Here's an update from Benn Beaton the line manager. 

Tomorrow the Paradiso supplement will be added to DTRPG in PDF so for now, if you want the latest version hit up the All the files 2020 folder and look for Paradiso v1  (see your pledge manager account).  The preview will be archived in Wave 3 Old files folder so it should be the only one there.

But no rest for the wicked.  About 20 seconds after we sent the book for final approval, I cracked the whip and presented layout with the proof reader’s Combined Army book notes.  Then late last night we got an email from Gutier with some changes.  We’re expecting to get this to Alberto for approval this week.  If this happens I’ll confirm in the comments below.

The next book is Shadow Affairs which is still being laid out.

In the background Gutier is still reviewing Tohaa.  He’s got 5 chapters left to go.  We’ve received & worked notes on 2 of the chapters and 3 chapters are now approved. We're also launching  the Infinity tile sets in PDF for online customers  this week  so please help spread the news when you see it.

Paradiso Preview PDF

With Mercenaries presented last week we've been lucky enough to get approval to show off the draft layout of Paradiso. The file is in proofing now with the back cover text being run through the editing process.

Over the next two weeks we'll be taking feedback so that we can incorporate it with the proof reader's notes and get the PDF finished and in your hands!

Combined Army Sourcebook

In other news, the first draft of the Combined Army book landed on my desk this morning and I've already started compiling notes for our layout guy.

War Market Mercenaries Final PDF

Hey Everyone,

Firstly let us say that we hope all our backers, supports, their families, friends and everyone out there is staying safe and taking precautions given the current global virus outbreak. We know this has been a worrying time for all of us, and we hope you all look after yourselves and others.

In terms of the kickstarter, we hope you’ll understand that this has also changed a few deadlines and timelines for us, as well as some of our usual practises. The first thing to say is that we have been working away on the next wave of expansion books, and many of our staff will continue working from home to try and keep the writing, editing, and layout going so that we don’t fall further behind. With that said, many of our staff are isolating or in lockdown, which will slow down the pre-production and production processes.

War Market: Mercenaries Final PDF

On the brighter side we have managed to complete the PDF for the Mercenaries book, which we have sent out today! That leads me on to the slight change in how we work (as I mentioned above), whereby we would usually put the PDF up for sale much later than you will received it. With physical distribution ground to a halt, due to the lockdown in many countries - including the UK - we are release digital products quicker than normal, so we will be releasing War Market: Mercenaries PDF for sale next week. This still gives you an early exclusive to the book you've supported us for, just not quite as long as we’d usual offer.

In terms of printing the books and sending physical copies, we will work to prepare them however our printers are in the same situation with the pandemic, as are our logistics partners. This means there will be a delay in printing and dispatching the physical copies of War Market: Mercenaries to you. We apologise, but we can’t give a time frame on how long a delay that will be – we’re in the same boat as everyone, and hope you’ll understand given the situation.

Mercenaries Layout Preview & Corvus Belli Competition

Hey everyone!

At long last we have a New PDF for you to review: Mercenaries! This will be uploaded in Backerkit to a brand new folder called ALL the PDFS (2020).

This folder is set up by waves so within it you’ll have a Wave 1 subfolder, a Wave 2 subfolder, and a Wave 3 subfolder. I’m working in the background to make the Backerkit digital files way easier to navigate, but if you’ve got all the PDFs this will be the only folder you’ll really need.

The Mercenaries file is ready for proofreading so let us know through email using the subject line MERCENARIES ERROR REPORT so we can accumulate anything you guys find, and send that over to [email protected].

Corvus Belli Competition

But that’s not all! Our friends over at Corvus Belli are opening a competition today, follow this link. You could win a brand new character set as well as the core rulebook! So let your players know! It's open until the 17th Feb.

The characters they’re showing off today will be the pregen characters in our campaign Nebula of Mirrors so they make an excellent addition for tables wanting. These are already built and sitting in the Wave 3 subfolder of ALL the PDFS (2020).

Development Update

Current priorities: We aim to maintain a consistent output through 2020, ensuring that Gutier is never waiting on us and that once Gutier approves a piece we can get to editing straight away. To that aim:

• We have just begun laying out the Paradiso sourcebook, and the Shadow Affairs campaign book is queued for layout next!
• Gutier is reviewing the last chapter of the Combined Army sourcebook. It’s a 20,000-word chapter, so might take a while! (Hard to squeeze Morat, Shasvastii, Sygmaa and Human characters into a shorter chapter afterall...) There is only one chapter with notes attached, the rest of the chapters are approved, and we expect these notes to be resolved in short order. 
• The Tohaa book is ready for Gutier's approval once Combined Army book is done.
•  TAGs, the outstanding tags chapter was reassigned to another author after the original was unable to make deadline due to personal issues.
•  O-12, the last chapters are awaiting some feedback from Gutier as they involve Bureau Aegis.
•  Nebula of Mirrors, the first act has been delivered and the writer Is on track to deliver with no other actions for Infinity impeding it.
•  Ships, the first chapter is now in, with two writers dedicated to the project, and others moving onto the project once prior infinity commitments (O-12 and TAGs) are completed.
•  Technology, is pending writer availability & deadlines as is Acheron Cascade and Hypercorps.

That's it for now, we'll have more updates once we have more news and previews of the remaining supplements as they go into layout!

Spanish Translation Complete!

We're just giving you a quick update while we’ve been getting the Mercenaries book together. The folks over at Nosolorol have finished translating the corebook and are close to finishing the Players Guide!

If you have All the PDFs of the PDF subscription upgrade, you’ll find this in the All the PDFs 2019 folder. If you don’t have this but have purchased the Spanish pledge it’ll be delivered as a separate file.

The Mercenaries supplement is going through layout and good progress is being made. We’re trying to shoehorn as much content as we can in the 112 pages.

No news on Combined Army yet but Shadow Affairs is out of editing and in the layout queue!
